Connor & Mom waiting to be taken down to surgery!
Connor & Mom posing in their cute hats and outfits! Cheeeeeese! Connor had his first surgery today. Hopefully it will be his last for a very long time! Connor has, or should I say had, Tongue Tie. While it's not a serious condition it could've caused him to talk with a lisp or with speech problems. Today he had surgery to clip the underneath part of the tongue. The surgery went great and Dr. Goebel did a great job with Connor. It only took 10 minutes, if that, to do the surgery! Connor was a very brave little boy and performed for everyone there! However, because of the tongue being numbed and coming out of the anesthetics Connor bit a chunk out of the right side of his tongue. The best way Mike can think of describing it is that it looks like his tongue went through a meat grinder. It was pretty gruesome and was bleeding like crazy! I felt so bad for Connor! He was so confused and WOULD NOT stop biting on his tongue. I eventually had to leave and take a walk because the blood, etc. and seeing him cry and mad really upset me and made me sick. When I returned Mike had calmed him down, he was happier, and had stopped biting his tongue! We were able to get the bleeding to slow down enough to go home! Phew! He's getting back to normal and we're glad that is over with!
