While visiting my family in Wellsville, we got to do a lot of fun things! One of my favorite things that we did was spending time in Dry Lake. A few years ago my Dad & brothers cleared an area to make our family campground. My Dad put his new camper up there, along with a grill, firepit, chairs, tables, and even some spots for tents! It's a beautiful area, peaceful, and just a great place to go and spend time with family. It's also fun to see the deer that come out to eat the grain! There are some nice buck this year! Anyway, we had the chance to go up to Dry Lake two times. The first time, we went up there with my parents, and my sister and her family. We roasted hot dogs, smores, ate yummy food and just hung out! The second time, we went up there with my parents, my brother & his fiance', and my sister. We roasted hot dogs, marshmallows, and then my parents, Connor, Rylie, and myself slept over in my Dad's camper! I tell you what, that camper is AWESOME! It even had heat, air conditioning, cable, DVD player, radio, a master bedroom, 2 extra beds, and an awesome bathroom. So, I guess you can't even call it camping. You won't catch me complaining though. It was easier that way, since I didn't have Mike to help. We had a little adventure during the night. I came up with the idea of giving Connor a glow stick to sleep with so that he wouldn't be scared of the dark. It was working great and then, all of a sudden, Connor screamed this blood-curdling scream!!!! My Mom was laying down with him at the time and told me he had bit open the glow stick. Well, it was all over his hands, which he rubbed his eyes with. It had gotten into his eyes and was stinging his eyes! We turned off the lights to see how bad it was and his eyes, hands, and sheets were glowing. So, I called Poison Control (they are AMAZING!)to see what we should do. The end result was that my Dad held Connor in his arms so he couldn't move and I dumped water in his eyes. We did this for 15 minutes, with 2 minute breaks off and on. Talk about scary!!! It worked though and he is fine!!! Never a dull moment, right? I can't wait for our next visit to Dry Lake!

What a scary experience the glow stick caused. I have done this numerous times with my kids while camping. The glow sticks are great little night lights. I guess I am lucky no one has bitten into one yet!
I guess you can always count on a three year old to wonder what it would be like to bite open a glow stick! The poor little guy! I'm glad you were able to get everything out of his eyes!
WOw that is scary! My cousin did that once! Freaky!
Whoa! I never knew that you could go camping at Dry Lake or bite through a glow stick. It's very cool that you have your own private campground and I'm very happy that Connor is ok. Yikes!
